NAAAP-NY welcomed the new year with the first Talk Tuesday of 2006 at Bogart’s, a Park Avenue lounge. Apropos to NAAAP-NY entering its 24th year, two generations of one family, mother and daughter, were among the many Asian American professionals who came out to relax after work with a drink among friendly educated Asian Americans.
Representatives of NAAAP-NY and co-sponsor CAPA introduced their respective organizations and announced upcoming events to the gathering of members and new faces. Peter Yee, President of January’s guest partner, New York Coalition for Asian American Mental Health, and Frances L. Wong, Vice President, captivated the crowd with an illuminating and powerful presentation on the rarely discussed mental health crisis in the Asian American community.
