NAAAP-NY’s Sunday Networking Brunch at Fusia Asian Cuisine lived up to its billing as "the event that you have been waiting for." Asian American professionals from all over the Tri-State Area and as far away as Boston converged upon Fusia Asian Cuisine, located at 56th Street and Lexington, for the Sunday Networking Brunch. With the 70 seat dining room filled to capacity for the private event, the Asian American professionals, ranging from graduate students to recent graduates beginning their careers to those working their way up the career ladder to those with established careers, mingled before the three course brunch was served.
The elements of Fusia Asian Cuisine’s decor and its menu are from all over Asia. Similarly, the attendees of the Sunday Networking Brunch were from all over, including South Korea, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, New York, New Jersey, Texas, California and even Great Britain.
Before the Chef’s Special appetizer was served, upcoming events were announced and new members, including an attorney and her husband, a radiologist, were introduced and welcomed. Steven Chin, one of the owners of Fusia Asian Cuisine, gave an inspirational speech about his transition from the corporate world to entrepreneurship. Steven worked as a systems analyst at Bear Stearns before pursuing his dream of opening a pan-Asian restaurant that specializes in healthy cooking and quality service. Despite the hard work, risks and 14 hour workdays, Steven said that the effort was worth it to escape from the corporate "box" to entrepreneurship, where "the sky is the limit."
Special thanks to Steven Chin and everyone at Fusia Asian Cuisine for hosting the Sunday Networking Brunch. For more information on Fusia Asian Cuisine, please visit Fusia
