NAAAP-NY welcomed March’s guest partner, Asian American Federation of New York, at Nightingale Lounge, a bar and performance venue in the East Village. Whether at the black granite bar or at the banquettes and sofas, over 50 Asian American professionals from the corporate, small business and non-profit sectors exchanged business cards and talked to new acquaintances and old friends.

The Federation introduced itself and raffled two bottles of sake and a copy of Jane Hyun’s book, “Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling: Career Strategies for Asians”. The Federation is a nonprofit leadership organization that works to advance the civic voice and quality of life of Asian Americans in the New York metropolitan area. Established in 1990, The Federation funds, supports and collaborates with 39 member agencies to strengthen community services, promote strategic philanthropy, and conduct research and advocacy concerning critical issues. For more information on The Federation, please go to www.aafny.org.

NAAAP-NY encouraged Talk Tuesday attendees to check out other NAAAP-NY events. NAAAP-NY’s last event, a Tea Appreciation Class at The Tea Gallery, located at 131 Allen Street in the Lower East Side, sold out in less than one week! NAAAP-NY signed up two new members who we wish to thank for their support.

CAPA announced the performers, including Peelander-Z and Kevin So, at the 27th Annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival on May 7 in Union Square Park. Please visit NAAAP-NY’s booth at the Festival!

Please join us for Talk Tuesday, where Asian American professionals meet, mingle and talk every second Tuesday of the month.
