November 2009 - The National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) officially launched a monthly Leadership Webinar Series in October for all of its members. NAAAP National created the one-of-a-kind program using online meeting technology to present nationally acclaimed speakers to participants in 25 different chapters and ventures across North America. The program also provides the participants a convenient forum to discuss professional experiences and raise career questions.

The next session in the NAAAP Leadership Webinar Series will take place November 17th, 2009 at 9:00 PM Eastern. The topic of the webinar is "Ten Steps to a Successful Career" and features Dr. Elizabeth Xu, Senior Vice President of Product Development and World Wide Support for Vitria Technology. Xu was also a co-founder of the IBM Asian American Network where she worked for years in various managerial roles. On Nov. 17, "Ten Steps to a Successful Career" will help participants assess personal values, define life and work goals, and understand pitfalls for Asians in the workplace.

More than 50 people participated in the inaugural 90-minute session in October, from the comforts of their own apartments or home offices. Former Army officer and current actor Brian McLaughlin discussed the many lessons in interpersonal skills and project management that he learned in his athletic, military, entertainment and business careers.
