2004 NAAAP-NY Scholarship Program Guidelines

NAAAP-NY is pleased to announce the opening of the 2004 scholarship program to assist and encourage promising Asian American students seeking higher educational opportunities. Through the support of our members and corporate sponsors, NAAAP-NY has established a fund for the purpose of assisting and encouraging promising Asian American students who seek higher educational opportunities. The number of awards will be determined based on the size and availability of funds. For the year 2003 to 2004, at least two Asian American high school seniors will be selected to receive a one-time scholarship of $2,500. The scholarships may be used by the recipients to pay tuition, room and board fees, books, and other costs related to their first-year matriculation at any nationally accredited four-year college.

Eligibility
Asian Americans who are in their senior year at public, private or parochial high schools in the New York Metropolitan area and who have demonstrated:

  • Outstanding academic achievement
  • Commitment to community service

Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

Winners will be selected by members of the NAAAP-NY Scholarship Committee. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of academic excellence, essays, community service, and financial need.
